Dacryocystitis
Inflammation of the nasolacrimal (tear) sac, typically caused by dacryostenosis. Symptoms include discharge, a sticky eye, eye pain or discomfort, a red or pink eye, swelling around the eye and tearing.

Diabetic Retinopathy
A complication of diabetes that damages the tiny blood vessels that supply blood to the back part of the eye (retina). It's caused by high blood sugar levels. The vessels swell and leak liquid into the retina, resulting in blurred vision and sometimes blindness.

Dilate
To spread wide, enlarge, or expand. In eye care, dilation describes the degree of opening of the pupil. The pupil can be further dilated by the instillation of cycloplegic drops.

Droopy Eyelids
Ptosis, or drooping of the upper eyelid, may occur for several reasons such as: disease, injury, birth defect, previous eye surgery and age. In most cases, it is caused by either a weakness of the levator muscle (muscle that raises the lid), or a problem with the nerve that sends messages to the muscle.

Dry Eyes
Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS) is an eye disease caused by decreased tear production or increased tear film evaporation commonly found in people and small animals. A more common term is "dry eyes".
