Ectropion
An abnormal turning out of an eyelid, typically the lower one, which exposes the inner, conjunctival side of the eyelid; usually due to aging. Additional symptoms include eye or lid pain or discomfort, a red or pink eye or eyelid and overflow tearing.
Entropion
An abnormal turning in of an eyelid, which causes the lashes to rub on the ocular surface; usually due to aging. Additional symptoms include eye or lid pain or discomfort, foreign body sensation, a red or pink eye, itching, tearing and vision loss.
Epiretinal Membrane
Epiretinal membrane is known by many names in clinical and educational circles, including preretinal membrane, idiopathic preretinal macular gliosis, cellophane maculopathy, macular pucker and surface wrinkling retinopathy. In early stages, epiretinal membrane may be asymptomatic, or it may create only a mild reduction in acuity. Its progression may cause metamorphopsia and lead to severe visual impairment.
Episcleritis
Inflammation of the episclera. The cause is usually unknown, but episcleritis may be associated with some systemic (eg, autoimmune) diseases. Symptoms include a red or pink eye, eye pain or discomfort, light sensitivity and tearing.
